Alfred Vaessen is the face and driving force behind Onori. Already the fourth generation in the fashion industry and with more than thirty years of experience able to fulfil all your corporate fashion wishes together with his team. Onori is specialized in guiding corporate wear processes. Together with our relations, we identify their wishes and ideas and issue advice. Of great importance are the questions: “What is the clothing intended for?” and “Within what timeframe should delivery be made?”. Is there a hard deadline in connection with an opening, a trade fair or event or is it feasible to start a custom made process? If the time is too short, we advise our relations a standard or customized process. Our challenge is to be distinctive and recognizable within your corporate identity.
1900
Around 1900 my great-grandfather Hendrik Vaessen opened the doors of a fashion store at the Zuiderzeestraatweg in Oldebroek.
1955
After the living room, converted into a store, was found to be too small, a grand new building with two floors was built in 1955.
1964
The doors of the renovated building in Wezep opened in 1964. Ladies and men's clothing on the first floor and lingerie, casual and children's clothing on the ground floor. My father had been working in the business for several years and now became responsible for this store as a partner.
1979
In 1979 the step was taken to move to the new shopping centre in Wezep with a narrower collection. From 1987 I started in my parents' shop as the fourth generation in the fashion industry.
1989
In 1989 it was decided to close the mixed women's and men's fashion store in Wezep and to start a new formula in Harderwijk; Homage. A wide range of brands ensured that the newly built customer group could dress well for private and business purposes.
2000
The store formula was adjusted. A contemporary concept, a design-like interior and only four brands. The formula received national attention, Hommage was named pilot store of the year by Hugo Boss and I was nominated as young SME of the year.
2000
In the same year, Hommage corporate fashion was founded, by which a start was made with our current wholesaler.
2005
In 2005 we decided to stop the retail activities. A large new building was built for the new formulas: Hommage Corporate Gifts and Onori Corporate Fashion, at the Nobelstraat in Harderwijk. In October 2007 we proudly opened our doors.
2014
Unfortunately, a major fire in 2014 destroyed our entire building. As temporary accommodation we moved to the Daltonstraat in Harderwijk for 14 months.
2016
In 2016, we had the festive reopening of our building at the Nobelstraat. The beautifully rebuilt building on Nobelstraat was then moved back into use and was used by Onori for about a third.
2020
The wishes concerning the logistics in our building changed over the years. In 2020 we got the question from an entrepreneur whether we wanted to sell the property. So, we moved back to Daltonstraat in Harderwijk in 2020. The new location is a great logistics improvement where we have everything compact on the ground floor: Office, showroom and warehouse.

With the move to Daltonstraat, the fifth generation has also involved the company. My daughter Carlijn started at Onori. With her knowledge of marketing, but also her business background, we can continue to grow and are talented to do many more great projects for you!
